What goes into a blog post? Helpful, specific content that: 1) gives readers a useful takeaway, and 2) shows you're an expert.

John Hartig hasn't used blog posts before, so excuse his inexperience in this practice. He hopes that the topics of writing, web design and photography will "humanize" what keeps him busy during retirement in Niagara.  He intends to help other seniors in Niagara acquire skills in the computer, the camera and writing. Grandma Moses, after all didn't start painting seriously until the age of 78. While you still think you can, you can! Just do it!

  1. Hi, I’ve chewed over what your post said, and I think you are absolutely right! Look for ways to keep active and to enjoy life while you still have. Isn’t it marvelous that seniors can learn the computer, which has made writing, photography and even web design, so much easier. I wonder what seniors did a century ago? Sit on the porch, smoking a pipe or maybe with the ladies, knitting? Wasn’t the invention of the airplane wonderful, and then black and white TV and movies. And now we have a world open to us in full colour. What a wonderful time to be alive. Do you remember the sentiments in that old Louis Armstrong song?

    The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
    Are also on the faces of people going by
    I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
    They’re really saying I love you
